SimCarr Web is a well hydraulics simulator that helps engineers and chemists predict whether the designed fluid rheology and flow rates are suitable for carrying out all the cuts resulting from drilling. The web application can be accessed by anyone within the company. There’s no need for software installation or updates, since the centralized server provides the most recent versions across the web, facilitating access from users both in the company’s offices and on the drilling rigs.

Solutions

Drilling wells in oil reservoirs is an extremely complex and costly process. Several phenomena impact the annular pressure during drilling, and these issues may partially or fully block the operation. As such, the ideal scenario is to work within an operating window that guarantees the annular pressure between the limits of pore pressure and the fracture gradient, and which can ultimately prevent an unwanted fluid invasion and rock fracture.

Through simulation, SimCarr Web can configure operational parameters such as the type of the fluid and its rheology, the well trajectory, the column composition, the particle characterization, flow, spine rotation, and the rate of penetration, among others. The configuration of these operating parameters will determine the quality of the results and will help the user determine the limits for a safe drilling operation.
